Ribbon Chick proudly announces our First Annual A la Pink: Breast Cancer Survivors Recipe Contest. Ribbon Chick invites women who are battling the disease or who have declared victory and are cancer-free to submit their favorite tasty recipes and personal stories of inspiration, hope and survival. Recipe selections will be made based on the following criteria listed in order of priority:

  - Inspirational stories—we are looking for stories of love, hope, faith, spirit, and         inspiration. Selections will be based on the story’s originality,  creativity, and human         interest. We want to hear about your journey to survival. Please do not focus on your         treatment unless it provides some sort of inspiring details. We’re also asking for an         optional $5 donation to further breast cancer support and breast cancer research.

  - Recipes—we are interested in original, tasty, and nutritious recipes.

  - Photos—inspiring images of survivors who conquered this disease and women              battling the disease.

Contest Judges are The Electrified Cooks -- Plugged into Today's Cooking; Kathy Moore and Roxanne Wyss (www.pluggedintocooking.com). Recipes can be submitted online (see below) or during two Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure events in which Ribbon Chick staff will man a tent, distributing information, and accepting submissions. Event locations:

Winning recipes will be selected in late August. The grand prize is an all-expense-paid trip to New York City to participate in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on September 14, 2008, and a special highlight featured in “Around My Table.” Runners-up will receive special recognition in all publicity materials, featured on Ribbon Chick Web site, a wonderful gift and acknowledged in “Around My Table” scheduled to be published in 2009.

Prizes include:

  - 1st Prize: Best: All-expense paid trip for two to New York City, including plane fare,         and three nights lodging
